This is the home of the Original Houdini Seance. The Original Houdini Seance dates back to 1927, the first year after Houdini died. Houdini's wife Beatrice (Bess) Houdini held a seance for Houdini for 10 years, mostly in the form of a tribute. When she stopped doing the seances, she asked a friend of Houdini's, magician, Houdini ghostwriter, and Houdini biographer, Walter B. Gibson to continue the tradition. Walter was also writer of the famous Shadow seriesw that became a radio, TV and film. The film starred movie actor Alec Baldwin. Before he died Walter B. Gibson passed on the legacy, the honor and the tradition of doing the annual seances to magician, escape artist and Houdini expert, Dorothy Dietrich. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Dietrich She is also the first and only woman in history to accomplish the Jinxed Bullet Catch, also known as the trick that scared Houdini. She has done it 4 times under strict test conditions with dozens or hundreds of witnesses. When not traveling Dorothy heads up, along with mystery entertainer Dick Brookz, the Houdini Museum in Scranton, PA. It is the only building in the world dedicated to Houdini.

A group formed by her and The Houdini Museum that came to be called internationally as "Houdini Commandos" recently replaced the missing statuary bust at Houdini's grave site that has been missing for since 1975.
